Well, this is not the common Japanese folk album for tourists, this is really a marvellous mixture of the work of Dorothy Ashby / Stefano Torossi / Minoru Muraoka or Kiyoshi Yamaya, in a Jungle Obsession / Stringtronics way… Muraoka is playing the bamboo flute here, by the way, backed by Takeshi Inomata on drums. Heavy groove with traditional instruments, including some killer breaks. Superb condition, super elusive.
