Excellent afro groove record ! Ashantis is an Italo Swiss band and don’t ask me why they released this LP in Poland (as well as Cymande’s), I am still looking for informations… Killer medium tempo afro funk on “Safari” with superb chants and trombone chorus. The rest of the album is heavy weight afro funk and disco : “Disco Play”, “Happy Sound”, “Hey You”, “Everybody”, “Long Journey”, “Woman”, “A.S.H.A.N.T.I.S.”, “Mama’s Daughter” and “Honey Baby”. I think this was issued in Poland in 1980 but the material has been recorded two years before, in 1978.
