Oh my ! I have been totally amazed when I discovered this series on Denon. Japanese folk meets psychedelic jazz ! And the use of the bamboo flute (or shakuhachi) puts me in trance (yes I am also a fan of Minoru Muraoka, and his grooviest works sound a bit like this album). Kifu Mitsuhashi is playing the shakuhachi, and you’ve got some tasty, heavy breaks too ! And keep in mind that it’s very very rare, even in Japan.
