Description

Fantastic afro funk & jazz album by Nigerian Ray Stephen Oche, only released in France. This one has two of my favourites from the guy : “Peace Upon Kenemaland” and “Owoicho Oche”. Other tracks are “Ada ode”, “Trumpet Calls the People of Africa”, “At the Jazz Fountain”, “Ayipe Assa”, “Benue Meditations”, “Down Beat Speical”, “Kano City Sky” and “Death Scattered Assa Village”. The band includes Gambian, Congolese, Togolese, Guinean, Brazilian and French musicians (possibly Jo Maka on vocals and percussions). Liner notes by Maurice Cullaz.
