When I first heard this Japanese version of “Chameleon” I was wondering who was backing the lady Kimiko Kasai, but I thought I had recognised Mike Clark’s touch on the drums… And of course, it was The Headhunters playing here ! Herbie Hancock, Blackbyrd McKnight, Bennie Maupin, Paul Jackson & Co on a mission in Japan, for a lovely and super catchy vocal reinterpretation of a track that changed the course of music history.
