Wow ! Killer funky library on the British label Rouge, but this time it’s filled with French compositions by Joachim Sherylee, the British alias for Jacky Giordano, yes yes, him, the one. It won’t surprise you, the album sounds a bit like the Freesound productions. Or a bit like the Themes series, and the amazing “Hanged Man”. Also influences by Roy Ayers, especially on “Highlights”, with a funky use of the vibraphone. Of course, plenty of funky, discoid or mid tempo tunes, ripe for sampling. Another good exemple : “Just Moody”, and its exquisite sampley intro. If it is not enough, you’ve got soft LOOPs and sensual groove on “Way Away”, jazz funk with breaks on “Breakaway”, nice jazzy tune on “Split Decision” and three more killer funk tracks “Music Report”, “Scatter”, “Pick Up”… Dope ! Rare !
